community
Being visible and connected within our community is at the heart of our mission to inspire wonder and nurture curiosity. Through the work of our ECO committee, we create warm, welcoming opportunities for parents to come together at coffee mornings and to learn alongside us through visits from Belfast City Council and Forest School practitioners. By making full use of the primary school grounds, children enjoy rich Forest School experiences that encourage them to explore, ask questions and develop a lasting love of the natural world.
Our strong community links further enrich children’s learning through walks to Colin Glen, visits to the Dairy Farm Park and Good Shepherd Primary School, and by warmly welcoming Colin Library and local artists into our setting. Opening the nursery to allow pre‑pre school children to begin their journey early, working closely with EA LIT teams, sharing playgrounds and the PE hall, and hosting weekly visits for social and communication pupils alongside P7 children all help to build confidence, inclusion and a strong sense of belonging. In addition, Mrs Le Mahieu’s role as a director on the local Colin SureStart ensures we are well informed about community‑based services and helps to strengthen links and transitions for children taking part in two‑year‑old programmes across the area.
